Various staffing positions including hotel front desk operations at Pageant Beach Hotel, Beach Club Colony, Caribbean Club and Holiday Inn.
1976 — Present
Founding member Business and Professional Women [BPW] Club, Grand Cayman with unbroken membership. Served as President on four separate occasions; committee co-chair for fund raising and for scholarships; staunch advocate for reform of laws against domestic violence; other activities include involvement with 16 days of activism against gender abuse; family resource centre; crisis centre; BPW’s representative on NCVO Board of Directors.
Attended Cornell University Summer School of Hotel Administration.
Appointed by then Minister of Tourism to co-found with two others the first Cayman Islands Hotel Training School where she taught Front Office Management for three years.
1981 — 1999
Management and opening of various condominium properties including Cocoplum; Plantation Village; Casa Caribe; The Avalon. During this time she became a very successful and highly respected condominium manager and a Caymanian icon within this industry. Her years in tourism now spans 6 decades to date.
Recipient of CI Hotel and Condominium Association Annual Tourism award ‘In recognition of your outstanding career advancements in the Tourism industry’.
1994 – 1998
Head hunted by then CI Governor to be Chairperson of the National Drugs Council. A post held for four years.
Received a Queen’s Birthday Honours Award and Cayman Islands Certificate and Badge of Honour for “Services to the tourism industry and fosrpreserving Cayman’s culture and heritage”.
2000 — Present
Owner operator of: 1. ‘Annie’s Place’, Cayman’s first B & B establishment; 2. Annie A Mutton & Co Ltd., Property Management and Real Estate. 3. Tropical Exposure Brochure Delivery Service.
Awarded by BPW International Federation at their 28th international Congress the ‘BPW Power to make a difference through leadership’ and ‘Excellent Business Leader Award’. This award is presented every three years and is open to the BPW world-wide membership with recognition awarded to one candidate. Award recognises, amongst other achievements, Annie’s 38 years unbroken service to and membership of BPW Grand Cayman.
